Beyond The Horizon

Looking for the narrow source of light
Lost in the cobwebs of frozen time
Vain anger at the flying bird
Why was I left behind?

My shoulders…no longer a safe perch
A deep sigh from the hollowed heart…
Becoming the wind beneath her wings
Carrying her far away…

My eyes are numb…
I no longer feel the light…
Here, I am waiting…
For eternity to end…

Will I ever wake from this slumber?
Will I ever feel the healing touch…
Who knows…I stare beyond the horizon…
Waiting for light lost in the cobwebs of frozen time…

i like the smoothness with which you play with words....your poem is awesome as always....you very gently mystify your readers with the imagery....there is your life and evryone's lives just together in it...connected....its just...so totally human yet so beautifully great....keep writing

yet again we find a philosopher lamenting his past.... or present shall i say.... its for the wise to decide.... it would be an imbecile remark in comparison...
confounded by the cobwebs of time, many of us envy the phoenix that soars past us.... the perpetual pathos seems palpable momentarily... here it happens again... numb are the ones eyes... yet i feel the glow brighten in it...
another alabaster example of ritayan's mastery...
